Howard Payne outrebounded Concordia 47-38 and held Concordia to just 35% shooting in the second half.
Finding themselves down 21-6 to the start the game, the Yellow Jackets rallied to hold a 42-40 halftime advantage.
The Jackets extended their lead to as much as 10 points in the second half sparked by great play from Darren Farmer and Shadd Cole.
Khyce Randall was 10 of 20 from the field, 5-10 from behind the arc and 12-14 from the free-throw line. Randall scored 37 points with nine rebounds and six assists. He only needed 23 points coming into the game to pass 1,500 points in his career as a Yellow Jackets. He is currently 11th all-time in scoring in HPU history.
Darren Farmer scored 18 points off the bench with three assists and four steals. Shadd Cole added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Jackets.
Concordia was led by Ben Page with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Phillip Meikle added 18 points, Joe Neal had 16 and Ronnie Hamilton finished with 14 points.
Howard Payne is now 8-12 overall and 4-8 in American Southwest Conference action. Concordia stands to 13-7 overall and 7-5 in league play. The Jackets will play next at home on Sat., Feb. 3rd versus Sul Ross State University at 4:00 pm.
